I think, other than being able to spend time with my best friends, day 3 of my vacation was the best. Hands down. New Orleans, Louisiana.
Us three girls woke up super early after a long night of planning and slugged our way through getting ready. Clothes had been laid out the night before to save some time, but nothing compares to how long make-up takes to put on – especially mine. It seems like it takes 5 minutes, but from the time I start and the time I look at the end product, an hour, at least, has flown by.
By the time we piled into the car, we were just starting to fully wake up. We were more talkative and knowing we were on our way to go to a destination that each one of us wanted to visit for a long time, put some pep in our steps, but that wouldn’t last long as we were going to be in a car for 3 hours – 3 and ½ according to the GPS. Day two of the trip was pretty low-key, but awesome. We went into Pensacola to visit the Gulfarium (Aquarium on the Gulf). You enter and they instantly grab your picture.I don’t think I have ever once gone anywhere and they stopped me to get in line to take a picture. Like damn! Can I actually walk around before you snap a photo? Then you get in line in the gift shop to buy a pass, you finally enter the Aquarium. They got this set up to make instant money – especially if you have small children. You know once kids see merchandise, they don’t even care about anything else, even the reason they are there: seeing animals.
The first thing you see when you walk into the aquarium portion is a big round wall with windows everywhere. This is the dolphin tank. I was one happy camper because I love dolphins. After standing there what seemed like forever getting photos, I gave permission to my two friends that we could move on. Read the rest of this entry →
I came back from my vacation and took a week to gather all my thoughts and photos. My friend Cymantha (pronounced the same as Samantha) started out on 5/29. It was a rough start since I found out that one of my friends’ fathers had passed. I felt heartbroken that I could not be there for him that week, but I did let him know that if he needed anything to text my fiance and I and we would be there for him (obviously my fiance more so than me).
Cym and I got to the airport alright and made our way through TSA. What a joy! Cym always gets patted down. It never fails and this time was no different. Once our carry-ons (the only bags we had) were checked as well as our persons, we made our way to the gate. We flew Delta on the way down. The planes were small, but the staff was friendly.
It’s been almost two years since I updated my blog. That’s a long time. Quite a bit has happened. Lets do catch up quickly after I posted my last blog post (it was right after my grandmother and great uncle passed away).
-My boyfriend’s brother passed away
-Got a new job
-Was in a wedding
-Went to Disney for the first time
-Got engaged in Disney
-A friend from high school’s step father passed away
2015 was a very bad year for me mentally because of all the deaths, but there were some positives.
Hello! And I am so sorry for not updating and posting blogs.
It looks like the last one I posted was on September 1st. A lot has happened since then that has been such a cause for my disappearance. I attribute a lot of it to finishing my last semester at my university and the holidays. However, I wanted to start up again in the new year and I had planned out some posts. My job’s busiest months are January, February, and March so I was going to post accordingly. There was one week where I did nothing but work and sleep maybe three hours between shifts. It was rough. My grandmother was moved into the house at that time and she started to get sick. She was in and out of the hospital and rehab. My great uncle was also not looking very good, either. I actually took a break from Round Robin when things started to look grim and work was buzzing.
Hello again! It’s been a while. The summer has been pretty hectic because I have one last semester left and knowing such, if I wasn’t at work, then I was working on my social life. I won’t have one starting this week because I work Tues, Thurs, Fri, (and weekends if there’s hours) and I will be attending classes Mon and Weds. So I apologize for the lack of blogging (not like I am very exciting on here anyway).
This weekend I attended the National Book Festival in Washington D.C. The main reason? It was on the upcoming events for Lisa See‘s book signing tour. Since she is one of my favorite authors I was not going to miss a chance to finally meet her and have her sign another book (I ordered a pre-signed copy of “China Dolls” a few months back).
